Submission Basics

Every content submission we accept follows the following guidelines. Expand the dropdowns below for more information.

Article Formatting

  • 800-1200 words

  • Send as a Word document or Google Doc

  • Use H1, H2, and H3 headings when appropriate

  • Link to sources (no bibliographies or works cited)

Video Formatting

  • 8-12 minute video stories

  • Send as a YouTube / Vimeo link or .MP4

  • Our content is focused on entrepreneurs, not just professionals. While there is a lot of content out there for Christian business professionals, we exist specifically to encourage entrepreneurs who are called to create culture or investors who are called to steward their resources and capital.

  • We have a busy audience who need to be compelled by a "so what?" We value content that is captivating and edgy so that an entrepreneur scrolling through social media would read the title or a quote and reflect on how this applies to their own life.

  • If you’re going to submit content, get to know us first. Our Marks of a Faith Entrepreneur and Marks of a Faith Driven Investor are the DNA of our movement, and we are looking for submissions that highlight these common attributes of faithful men and women who seek to glorify God and showcase their faith in the marketplace.

Content that Makes Our Editors Smile 🙂

Need inspiration for a topic? Here are some of our favorite ideas with examples. It’s always nice to know what the editors like, right?

  • While we want to encourage business leaders with practical principles, we find that stories really draw in readers best. We encourage contributors to share examples, and personal stories (whether failures or successes) that take the big idea of the article and wrap it in a narrative to establish connection with the readers best. Here are some examples:

    – Article: Jordan Raynor

    – Article: Peter Greer

    – Article: Paul Michalski

    - Video: Founders

    - Video: SNDBX

    - Video: Saddleback Leather

  • We look to publish content that end with an “Aha moment.” Send us fresh perspectives. We aren’t looking for the first solution that comes to mind because chances are, most other people will have thought of it, too. Diver deeper. Share with us what you discover.

  • If your article tends toward business or leadership advice, back up your claims with data. How have other CEOs handled the issue before? What scripture references apply to your point? If referring to a personal experience, what were your measurable outcomes (revenue growth, community development projects, impact on an employee’s life). When hard data isn’t applicable, give us a vivid description of personal/spiritual transformation.

  • Following basic SEO principles will help your blog post rank highly on Google Search. More importantly, it will reach even more entrepreneurs who are seeking the guidance you have to offer.

    – Include a "searchable” title. Type your topic into Google to see what others are saying if you need inspiration.

    – Use topic keywords throughout the article. You don’t need a thesaurus when writing your article. Write clearly and concisely about your topic keyword. Examples of good keywords include: “calling,” “microloans,” or “God as creator.”

    – Format your article with headers and bullet points. Please use H2 and H3 subheadings to mark article sections and break up lists into bullet points.

  • Item descriptionOur hope is to inspire heart action through moving visuals and stories. We are looking for content that is professional, visually appealing, and highly produced.

Pitches We Often Pass On ⛔

To save everyone time, please avoid sending us the following content and pitches. In most cases, we will pass because a submission is not right for our audience, too broad, not structured around a specific topic.

  • The Faith Driven team loves receiving pitches from PR agents. However, we don’t want boilerplate client summaries or a copy and pasted book jacket bio. Instead, outline how your (your client’s) story or research speaks to the needs of Faith Driven Movement’s niche audience.

  • Content that contains little more than “Believe in your dreams” or Prosperity Gospel inspiration isn’t aligned with our brand.

  • If we can get a version of your article by inputting a prompt into ChatGPT, then we likely won’t accept your pitch. Thesis statements like “Education is critical for entrepreneurship,” “Entrepreneurs need mentors,” and “Share your faith in the workplace” are too broad. These are fine topics, but they need to go deeper. Flesh out your ideas with research, anecdotes, case studies, and insights that fall outside what our audience would consider common knowledge.

About Our Response Times

We do our best to respond to all inquiries, but be aware that submissions do not always fit within the niche criteria of supporting a Faith Driven Entrepreneur and Investor or it doesn’t line up with our editorial calendar. If you have not heard back from us after 2-3 weeks, please assume we will not be able to use your idea or submission.
